Bring an old pair of jeans, some lining fabric and your imagination, and walk out with a fun and fashionable shoulder bag! Beginner sewists welcome.

What to Bring:

  • Your Sewing Machine in Good Working Order
  • An old pair of jeans, preferably washed! The bigger the size the bigger your finished bag but size doesn’t matter.
  • Lining fabric - 3/4 yard give or take depending on the jeans size, preferably a non-directional print. While the bag in the photo has a patchwork lining that is not something you will have time to create from scratch during class so if you want to use up some scraps, do some pre-assembly so you are working with larger pieces.
  • Thread - all purpose is fine, and you can either match the color of your jeans,  or match the color of the topstitching (the model matched the topstitching).
  • Sewing machine needles suitable for jeans - I used a 16, bring extras
  • Pins or clips
  • Sharp fabric scissors and seam ripper (you can bring a small mat and rotary cutter if desired)
  • Optional but helpful: Hump Jumper
