Basket Case Class

Spend the day with “basketeer” Diane Fama and learn how to make beautiful and useful scrap baskets using fabric strips, cotton clothesline and a few glue sticks.  You’ll end up with at least two items by the end of the day and all the skills and written instructions needed to make many more at home.  The possibilities are endless and these make wonderful gifts.  


- Sewing machine with zigzag capability
- Several bobbins
- Snips
- Size 90/14 needles
- Pins, preferably longer glass head pins
- Several bobbins to use during class
- Thread to coordinate with your fabric - variegated works well!
- Cotton clothesline, at least 100 ft (available in hanks at Sew Jersey in advance of class)
- At least 6 fat quarters of your choice, precut into 1/2" wide x 22" long strips (you will need at least 50 strips per basket - store in a ziploc for easy transport to class)
- A washcloth in a sandwich size ziploc
- Several rub on glue sticks

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before class to set up. If you need to shop before class, plan to arrive with ample time to do so.

Skill Details: Advanced beginner: please be familiar with your sewing machine and basic machine sewing skills.

She is a wonderful educator who can answer all your questions about the world of quilting and you'll always leave class having learned amazing new tips and tricks!
